Bon Iver - Skinny Love

This was the song i discovered Bon Iver four months ago. It turned out to be my “get up in the morning” song for a whole week. Then i bought the whole album. “for Emma, forever ago”. Great Work! But i never heard of this Bon Iver-Guy and was thinking this is lame music only I like, but nobody else. I was thinking that until yesterday when i found out that his record appears in so many “album of the year 2008” charts. The newspaper “The Guardian” voted his record even to #1 record of the year.

Then i searched the internet why I and all this musicjournalists like this CD so much. And then I found the answer. Bon Iver (real name: Justin Vernon) had a break up with his girlfriend, broke up with his band and was totally sick of the world, the civilation of everything. Then he locked himself in a lone blockhouse somewhere in the wide woods of Wisconsin. He did not intend to write or record any music during the time but rather to recuperate from the events of the previous year. Eventually a record began to evolve during this cathartic time of isolation. for Emma, forever ago was born.

Get it!

A record full of feeling small with the howling of the wolves. A piece of music like an axe hitting frozen ice.

So get it. It’s really great. an my english sucks. haha. but i think you got my point. that is the most important thing. ^^
